Public presentation of Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on embankment crest stabilization works on the Danube River, held in the premises of PWMC Vode Vojvodine today.

Flood Emergency Recovery project team organized the presentation and public discussion regarding the introduction of Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for future works on “Reconstruction of the Left Bank Embankment on the Danube River – existing embankment crest stabilization”

Works will be performed on approximately 14 kilometers of embankment in the municipalities of Sombor, Apatin, Bačka Palanka, Bački Petrovac and Novi Sad.

After floods in May 2014, the Republic of Serbia received a loan from the World Bank for the purposes of flood recovery and sanation, which will be used for funding aforementioned works. Estimated value of works is around 200 mln euros while the call for tenders should be implemented in the first half of 2017.
