Works on reconstruction of 4 kilometers of the embankment on the Tisa River at section between Senta and Ada are supposed to be finished in the second half of July. Existing high terrain without a real embankment in that section of the Tisa flood embankment will be reinforced and superelevation will be carried out. Reconstructed embankment will ensure safety of the flood embankment even in case of extremely high river stages since it is designed to withstand the so-called 100-year floods. Works have commenced last year but were interrupted due to weather conditions.  Currently, permanent works are being carried out on the construction site with ten large machines (bulldozers, dredgers, etc).

When the Tisa River beat the records in our country in 2006, this section of the embankment was defended with sandbags whilst water built up, reaching the sandbags.

As much as 50 mln Serbian dinars will be invested in the works by PWMC Vode Vojvodine while water management companies from Senta and Požarevac will execute the works.
